6:20 pm - A very Harry post
|
This is the first time since 2001 that I won’t be seeing a HP movie at a midnight showing or the day it is released. I find that sad. I am also a little freaked out that I have been in this fandom for 10 years now. I wish that I had a HP thing that fit me well other then my scarf so I could wear it tomorrow. It is odd to know that a fandom has been a big part of your life for so long. I know that it’s “just books” but I started reading them the year I graduated middle school. I met some of my best friends through Harry Potter. When I graduated collage with my undergrad the last book came out. That is a lot of growing and changing that happened with Harry Potter. I kinda feel like I’ve grown up with the character. If the creepy guy would leave the library I could play wizardrock. Leave creepy guy, leave. Not just becuase then wizardrock could be played but becuase you are essentally creepy. I want the creepy gone. You have been here…being creepy on a computer for almost 2 hours now. Leave. *glares but creepy guy does NOT leave*All he does is sigh/cough loudly. So I have been looking at Hot Topic HP merch online and am angry (as I am EVERY time they put out HP merch) that I am a Hufflepuff in a Gryffindore/Slytherin dominated world. There are many of us who identify ourselves as Hufflepuffs or Ravenclaws. Where’s my reversible hoodie? Where’s a Ravenclaw fitted tee? This really gets me mad…every time. Granted I only really look at Hot Topic when Harry Potter stuff comes out so maybe I don’t pay enough to the store to get a vote but come on people, seriously? The other two houses get NOTHING? I need to see if I can find any HP crafts for the kids to do here tomorrow. I will force Harry Potterness on them. Bwahaha. If I could find the copies of the books that the computer says we have (I have a feeling they were borrowed and never returned) I would display them. I at least know where Qudditch Through the Ages it shall be put in the front somewhere. Maybe I’ll bring MINE in for the night tomorrow. I feel bad that I won’t let them take any home but I can’t really afford to have my books ALL taken at the moment. Before I leave this place I shall get it a pretty boxed set of HP books. Then the children shall be able to take them home. I want Pince’s warning put in ALL of them. “ A warning: if you rip, tear, shred, bend. fold, deface, disfigure, smear, smudge, throw, drop, or in any other manner damage, mistreat, or show lack of respect towards this book, the consequences will be as awful as it is in my power to make them.” *smiles* Off to find crafts for them tomorrow. Hope everyone who sees the movie tonight LOVES it!

7:45 pm - Major update
|
Alright so I haven't updated in a long time. I kept waiting for a really good stretch of time so that it would be a positive entry. (Yay!) However this doesn't happen very often in my life so everyone will just have to settle. (Awww) So my mom is home now. That's a yay. Unfortunately she's in a ton of pain and we don't have anything prescribed that was the strength of what she was taking in the hospital. This makes life very unhappy for everyone. She cries and says she wants to die, I get upset and hate myself because I feel like I'm not worth anything. Work is rough. Both jobs. Kids are nuts. I'm behind at the office and I just feel overwhelmed and like I don't know how to do anything. Julie took me to the Ren Faire yesterday. It was the best day I've had in a while. I was there for about 5 min and got propositioned by a Sultan. Julie's gypsy cousin decided I was a "pretty play toy", I bought my first Ren thing from him. I mean he's like family now. The King of France decided that Julie and I where basically going to be his arm-candy for the day. We went everywhere with him. Even on stage. He and the Sultan had the most woman on stage...we where kind of just one big group because all us wenches practically where on top of each other. They then fought over me on a grassy field, like argued and the French King kept pulling me around by the waist. I got garb!!!! I got a skirt, a long chemise, an over-dress and a bodice for...$160! I know that sounds like a lot but not for good garb. Since I knew the gypsy's I was given an EXTREAM discount. It was great. I love the faire! I'm considered hot there! Squee! My mom was terrible today. Hopefully tonight will be better after I've worked 11 hours straight. Good day gentlefolk! Off to the dreaded home!

Today I'm gonna get my hair done! I'm excited and a bit scared...I'm going to a friend and I'm gonna kinda give her free reign. I'm kinda perticular about my hair. However it's been basically the same way for 5 years now. Time for a bit of a change. I think some highlights shall be involved. Everyone cross fingers that it comes out well!

7:45 pm - Happy St. Patrick's Day
|
So I shall celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a way that is probably closer to how my ancestors celebrated...by working from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. lol. I just got my first pee break for four hours. Soon I shall go home, make corn beef hash and maybe watch-OH YES! The Quiet Man is gonna be on. Hellz yes! I feel bad I didn't get to watch The Molly Maguires yet today...it feels wrong to celebrate St. Patrick's Day without it, without remembering my family's history. Oh well. Good news! My mom is in an intermediate room again. After she got bumped back down to the ICU recently I was really scared. I won't lie, I thought she was going to die when I saw here there with all the tubes and shit. I cried, sat there and sobbed in the middle of the hospital. She's doing so much better again now though. She's a tough one my mom. I'm very proud of her. Hopefully they'll put her in a regular room soon. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE!

6:02 pm - and now for a real entry
|
Ok so we're at the 2nd job of the day...onto our 8th hour of work and I am procrastinating hardcore. This weekend was good. I had my doubts about it on Friday afternoon but it turned out to be over-all a good time. LOL. Friday was supposed to be a football game were alumni from my high school band could come and play. We got rained out which I was kinda glad for because I was exhausted. This clerk job kinda takes a lot out of me some days. So instead Maggie, Neal, Anthony and I went to see "Burn After Reading". I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. I thought it was going to be one of the stupidest movies ever and had gone to it just to see friends but I ended up laughing my ass off. It was so SMART. For real. I couldn't guess where the plot was going at all and it was just really clever. Then we met Julie for coffee and sat and talked for a while which was wonderful. Sat we did get to have the game. I was nervous because I hadn't been able to practice, at all, and I hadn't marched on a field in five years. It all came back though. The smell, the way our football field is uneven...yah I snapped into attention like it was my job and I think we sounded great. We only had an hour to practice before the game. It all went well though. It was cool to play with people who had graduated like 30 years prior and the 6th graders who are in it now. Then, to make it better, half-way through the game Chad comes! Not just Chad but also Sarah and Shannon! Neal and I talked fandom, which was nice cause we haven't talked in a while. Oh yah, it was a party then. LOL. Complete with a trip to Wal-Mart afterward, the school is in the middle of corn farms...there isn't much for us to do around here. It was a good time. Thanks again for taking me guys! I wish I would have remembered my camera. Sunday was a basket bingo for my fire department, of which my dad is the chief, so I went to that. Maggie and Julie were gonna come but that didn't pan out. It was a good time though. My mom and I ate WAY too much crap, won a bookcase (YES!!! Totally needed for my room) and a neat bowel. Sadley my soft-cover Sherlock Holmes feel in water and now the cover is messy, I mean it's my travel copy and my nice hardcover is safe at home but still. *Pouts* Poor Holmes. My mom was like "Oh, please. He's used to rain, he lives in England" Yes my mom males me laugh me by encouraging my delusions by speaking like he's real. LOL. I felt sick afterward. Too much crap and then I got a really bad headache. I still haven't gotten rid of it. I felt like shit all through my first job. Not too much better now. However good news! It is officially one week till the first day of fall. Also that day is the season premier of Heroes. Smallville and Supernatural start this Thursday. Ghost Hunter's has been good so far. It's shaping up to be a good tv fandom season. Fall is coming! Halloween! Sweaters! YAY!

4:22 pm - More meme

1. Next to each number, write only the name of the person who fits. 2. Answer one question with one name. 3. Don't tell the questions to anyone who isn't doing the meme. »I'll tell what each number means, if you promise to do the meme! ( fun times )

Here is a list of the 455 movies that have officially been nominated for Best Picture Oscars since the first Academy Awards ceremony in 1929. Go through the list and bold all the ones you've seen. Then, if you aren't too lazy, count them and post your number. Once you've looked at my list, suggest three movies from the list I haven't seen that you think I should see (if you can think of three).
( movies! ) So I think I have around 100...not bad for being 22 years old.

Let's start the new year off right; The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something anything you think you should know about me. Ask away!
Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!
ASK AWAY! I'll answer!!!

11:20 pm - Do you think in a past life I coulda been a bird?
|
So Christmas was good. I got a princess santa hat. LOL. I bought myself an Alice in Wonderland terry through for my bed with a giftcard for Hot Topic. It's wonderful and my new love. I also bought myself "Seeing Redd". I had to return two things, one damaged and the other beacuse I had it from Suncoast. Thankfully they gave me store credit. So I got season 1 on Numb3rs (drool), an Alice in Wonderland movie and The Notebook on dvd. Squee. I kinda love it. DO NOT JUDGE ME PADFOOT! We drove an hour and a half to see Sweeny Todd the other night. Totally worth it. I was scared, since I had seen the revival cast I know I would be picky. I'm a bit of a snob about things like that, like HP movies and the Golden Compass. Anyway, I really loved it. It was wonderful and I was impressed by the ability of the cast singing-wise. I had to spend said 3 hours roudn trip in the car with John and Anthony...kinda scary. It's werid when you hear your brother say things and you realize he's grown up. Anyway it was wonderful and amusing. My mom's sick right now. So I'm taking care of her though I think I'm gonna go to bed soon. We had our family Christmas today/my one younger cusin's birthday. My family made fun of me for being easily amused. *glares* Also there was a thing on about Elvis today on CNN. May I just say that Prasilla frighens and confuses me becuase she looks younger them me. Swear to go, the woman's like a size 4 and has NO LINES ON HER FACE. UNATURAL! I mean great for her, she's been known to rock the outragious, but yah a little creepy.
current mood: amused

10:07 am - HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
|
I ended up going to 7 pm mass last night becuase the rest of my family was. I was like "eh that'll only be part two of Tin Man...I'll watch the rest when I get home." So I put on my pretty blue dress and get all dolled up. Now my blue dress is satin, A-lined, a little low-cut and shows my arms. However I'm like, I'm gonna keep on my coat so w/e. NHo...I ended up lectoring. Thank God I'm short so I couldn't offend any of the little old ladies with my whoreish Christmas dress, lol. Apperently all anyone could see when I was actually reading was my head. The new priest liked my reading, he said I'm hired to read after I graduate. :/ Three of my cusins were alter serving. My aunt and my dad were two of the eucaristic minsters...yah we ran the show. lol. My dad just got called out for a fire. I want him to coem home. Fires worry me, they have since the time I was old enough to realize that he could die fightign a fire. I hope the family's ok. It must be terrible to ahve a fire on Christmas. A girl who i went to school with for only like a year mother died this weekend. I didn't know what to do...I mean we weren't really close. We were born on the same day. I heard her mom was wonderful. I THINK MY DAD'S HOME! YAY! Now hopefully gifts! HOPE THE FAT MAN IS GOOD TO YOU ALL!
